Amendments and Filings

This is every Alberta corporate amendment and filing we handle, on one page, with the price and the typical turnaround for each. Find your entity type, pick the filing, and complete orders received before 3:00 pm MT are filed the same business day.

Alberta Corporate Amendments and Filings Made Simple With ACS

ACS is a private company. Our CORES-trained agents prepare your filing and submit it through a licensed Alberta registry agent. We are not a government office or a registry agent. Every filing in the table is handled the same way: you complete a short online form and upload valid ID, a trained person reviews the package, and it goes to Corporate Registry through a licensed Alberta registry agent. PDF copies of the filed documents come back to you for your minute book or file.

Prices are total fees, with the government fee, consultation, preparation and filing included and no add-ons required; GST is added at checkout. Two items carry no government fee because Corporate Registry records nothing for them: an officer change and a shareholder change are minute-book work, prepared as resolutions and register entries. Typical time runs from a complete order to a filed document; where a professional regulator or a home-jurisdiction registry must act first, that time is separate.

Corporations from British Columbia, Saskatchewan or Manitoba registered through the NWPTA route file changes at home, and those changes flow to Alberta automatically.

What is not on this list

  • New registrations, from an Alberta corporation to a trade name or society, are on Register Your Business.
  • Searches, NUANS reports, certificates of status and certified copies are on Name & Records Search.
  • Minute books, share certificates, registered office addresses and a standing agent for service are on Business Supplies.

Not sure which one?

  • If Corporate Registry has reminded you of your anniversary month, file the annual return; miss it and Corporate Registry sends notices, and keep missing it and the corporation is struck.
  • If a director, an address or the agent for service changed, file the matching notice of change.
  • If the name or the shares are changing, file Articles of Amendment, with an Alberta NUANS report for a new named name.
  • If shares changed hands or an officer was appointed, update the minute book; the annual return then reports the top five voting shareholders.
  • If the corporation was struck within the last 10 years, revive it; if you are closing it, dissolve it.
  • If your business is a trade name or partnership, there is no renewal, but every change and every closure is filed.
  • Still unsure? Call (403) XXX-XXXX and a person will match you to the right filing in a few minutes.

FAQs

Which Alberta filings have no government fee?

An officer change and a shareholder change are recorded in the minute book, not with Corporate Registry, so there is no government fee for them. Every other filing on this page carries a government fee, and it is included in the price.

How quickly is a notice of change filed?

Complete orders received before 3:00 pm MT are filed the same business day and the filed notice is emailed to you as a PDF. Articles of Amendment with a new name need an Alberta NUANS report first, which usually arrives within the hour.

Do I file changes for a BC, Saskatchewan or Manitoba corporation in Alberta?

No. A corporation registered in Alberta through the NWPTA route files its changes in its home province, and the updates flow to the Alberta record automatically. Other extra-provincial corporations file their changes here.

Can my accountant or lawyer file these for me?

Yes. Firms file for all their clients from one account, receive the filed PDFs within the hour, and can ask about partner pricing on the Partner With Us page.
