One-Year Service Support – Your Corporation's Compliance, Handled
A corporate compliance service in Alberta does one job: it makes sure the filings Corporate Registry expects from your corporation are done on time, without you tracking the dates. For $149 + GST a year we file your annual return in its anniversary month, remind you before every deadline, file your director and address changes, draft the year's resolutions for your minute book, and answer the phone when you call.
Product Info
The price covers one corporation for 12 months, and the annual return's government fee is built in rather than added at filing time. The letter from Corporate Registry sitting on your desk is usually the annual return reminder; send us a photo of it and the plan takes it from there.
The plan does not include tax returns, bookkeeping, legal advice, or filings that change your articles. A name change or a new share class needs Articles of Amendment, which we quote separately.
Who this is for
- The owner who incorporated a year or two ago and keeps meaning to deal with the annual return before the corporation is struck.
- The owner of two or three small corporations, say an operating company and a holding company, who wants one dashboard and one reminder stream instead of three anniversary months to remember.
- The founder who incorporated this month and wants the first year's upkeep handled from day one, so the minute book and the registry stay in step.
- The owner living outside Alberta with nobody local watching the registered office mail.
How it works
- Add your corporation in the online form: the legal name, the corporate access number if you have it, and the directors and addresses on file. About 10 minutes. Returning customers pick the corporation from their account.
- We confirm the anniversary month and load your reminder calendar: the annual return, the renewal date of the plan, and any other date you give us, such as a professional permit renewal.
- Before your anniversary month, we email you a pre-filled annual return to confirm the directors, the registered office and the top five voting shareholders. Reply with "confirmed" or send the changes.
- A trained agent files it through our partner registry agent and emails you the filed confirmation in PDF.
- Through the year, you email or call when something changes. We prepare the notice of change, file it, and add the matching resolution to your minute book. Before the plan ends we email you about renewal.
What annual corporate maintenance in Alberta involves
Three obligations recur every year, in three different places, and owners mix them up constantly.
| Obligation | Where it goes | Who handles it |
|---|---|---|
| Alberta annual return | Corporate Registry, through a registry agent; due every year in the anniversary month of incorporation | Us, under this plan |
| Annual resolutions of directors and shareholders | Your minute book | Drafted by us, signed by you |
| T2 corporate tax return | Canada Revenue Agency | Your CPA |
The annual return confirms your directors, addresses and top five shareholders (names, addresses and percentage of issued voting shares). Corporate Registry mails a reminder to the registered office one month before, and no return is due in the year of incorporation. Miss it and Corporate Registry sends notices; keep missing it and the corporation is struck (dissolved). A dissolved corporation can be revived within 10 years, but only after every outstanding annual return is filed, which is more work and more fees than staying current. The details are in our guide to annual return deadlines, fees and strike-off.
Registered agent service in Alberta: what the term means here
If you searched for a registered agent service in Alberta, the Alberta term is agent for service: an individual located in Alberta, with an Alberta address, whom every Alberta corporation must appoint to receive legal documents. It is a separate requirement from the registered office and from this plan. If you need one, add our agent for service to the order; many owners pair the two.
What law firms call corporate secretarial services in Alberta, keeping the registers, drafting the yearly resolutions and filing the notices, is the minute-book side of this plan. If your corporation has no minute book yet, we can build one first.
Common mistakes we catch before filing
- An annual return confirming a director who resigned a year ago, because the notice of change of directors was never filed.
- A registered office that is still a former accountant's address, so the reminder went somewhere nobody reads.
- Shareholder percentages on the return that do not match the securities register.
- The belief that the T2 or the annual resolutions covered the annual return, or the reverse.
- A corporation that has already been dissolved, which needs a revival rather than an annual return.
Checklist
What you need before you start
- The exact legal name and the corporate access number, shown on your Certificate of Incorporation and on any corporate search.
- The date of incorporation, which sets the anniversary month.
- The current directors with addresses, the registered office address and the agent for service on file.
- The top five voting shareholders with their percentages, or your securities register.
- Your minute book, or tell us you need one built.
Requirements in Alberta
- The annual return is due every year in the anniversary month of incorporation; none is due in the year of incorporation; its government fee is included in the price above.
- It confirms directors, addresses and the top five voting shareholders.
- Changes to directors, the registered office or the agent for service are filed with Corporate Registry on the relevant notice. Officer changes are not recorded by the registry; they live in your registers and resolutions.
- Every Alberta corporation must have an agent for service who is an individual located in Alberta.
- Articles, bylaws, registers, share certificates and resolutions must be kept as corporate records.
- A dissolved corporation can be revived within 10 years of dissolution, after all outstanding annual returns are filed.

FAQs
What does the service support plan include?
For one corporation, for 12 months: your Alberta annual return prepared and filed in its anniversary month, government fee included, email reminders before every deadline, two notices of change of directors or address, the year's annual resolutions drafted for your minute book, and a person to call during Mon–Fri 8:00–6:00 MT. It does not include tax returns, bookkeeping or legal advice.
Is the annual return government fee included?
Yes. The price is $149 + GST in total fees, and the annual return's government fee is included. If a change filing carries its own government fee, we show it before you approve that filing.
Can I add more than one corporation?
Yes. Each corporation is its own plan at $149 + GST a year, and all of them sit in one dashboard with one stream of reminders and one anniversary calendar. Accounting and law firms looking after several clients can ask us about partner pricing.
Does it renew automatically?
The plan runs for 12 months from the day you buy it. Before it ends we email you the renewal date and the price for the coming year. If you let it lapse, nothing changes at Corporate Registry; you simply go back to ordering each filing on its own.
