Manage Your Business

Every change to an Alberta business after it is registered is a filing, and this page is where you find the right one. Pick the filing below, see the total price before the form, and complete orders received before 3:00 pm MT are filed the same business day.

Manage Alberta Corporation Filings Made Simple With ACS

ACS is a private company. Our CORES-trained agents prepare your filing and submit it through a licensed Alberta registry agent. We are not a government office or a registry agent. This hub covers everything you need to manage Alberta corporation filings after incorporation, plus the updates an extra-provincial registration, trade name or partnership needs over its life.

You tell us what changed in a short online form and upload valid ID. A trained person reviews every filing before it goes to Corporate Registry, and PDF copies of the filed documents come back to you for your minute book. Owners cannot file in CORES, Alberta's Corporate Registry System, themselves; every filing goes through a registry agent, and each price is one total with the government fee included.

Amendments and Filings

Every filing on the site, from a single annual return to a full continuance. Where Corporate Registry records nothing, there is no government fee.

Manage by Business Type

Not sure which one?

  • If a reminder from Corporate Registry has arrived for your anniversary month, file the annual return.
  • If a director joined, left or moved, file a director change or a director address change.
  • If the corporation moved, file the address change; if the person who accepts legal documents changed, file the agent for service change.
  • If you are renaming the corporation or changing its shares, you need Articles of Amendment; a new named name also needs an Alberta NUANS report.
  • If shares changed hands or an officer was appointed, update the minute book; Corporate Registry sees your top five voting shareholders on the annual return.
  • If the corporation was struck, revive it; if you are closing it, dissolve it.
  • If your business is a trade name or partnership, there is no renewal, but every change must be filed.

FAQs

How soon do I have to file a change of directors in Alberta?

Alberta sets a filing deadline that runs from the date the change takes effect. Do not wait for the annual return: send us the new director's details and valid ID, and complete orders received before 3:00 pm MT are filed the same business day.

What happens if I miss my annual return?

Miss it and Corporate Registry sends notices; keep missing it and the corporation is struck (dissolved). A dissolved corporation can be revived within 10 years by a director, shareholder or creditor, but every outstanding annual return must be filed first, so the simplest fix is to file the overdue return now.

Can I change my corporation's name without a new NUANS report?

Only if the new name is a numbered name. Any named name needs an Alberta NUANS report (a name search that reserves the name for 90 days) that is less than 91 days old when the Articles of Amendment are filed. We order the report and file the amendment together.

Do officer changes get filed with Corporate Registry?

No. Alberta Corporate Registry does not record officers, so a new president or secretary is appointed by director resolution and entered in the register of officers in your minute book. We prepare the resolution and the updated register, and there is no government fee.
