Careers

If you are looking at registry agent jobs in Calgary, here is what the work at ACS is: preparing Alberta incorporations, annual returns, corporate changes and searches for clients, checking every detail, and submitting each filing through a licensed Alberta registry agent.

What the work is

ACS is a private company, not a government office or a registry agent. Our agents talk to founders, accountants and regulated professionals by phone and email, turn what they tell us into the right forms (Articles of Incorporation, Notice of Directors, Notice of Agent for Service and the rest), and review every package before it goes to the registry. The job suits people who read carefully, write plainly and would rather catch a mistake than file one.

A typical day:

  • Reviewing new orders and calling clients when something is missing or does not match.
  • Preparing filings for Alberta corporations, trade names, societies and professional corporations.
  • Reading NUANS reports and corporate searches.
  • Sending clients their filed documents and keeping their minute-book records straight.

CORES training, Levels 1 to 3

Alberta corporate filings are processed in CORES, the Corporate Registry System run by Service Alberta. People who process CORES transactions hold CORES accreditation at Level 1, 2 or 3 after training and an exam administered by Service Alberta; the higher levels handle more complex filings. We train new agents toward Level 1 and support them through Levels 2 and 3 as their work grows. No registry experience is needed to start. Attention to detail is.

Among corporate services careers in Calgary, this is one with a defined training path and a Service Alberta exam at the end of each level.
