Business Search and Summary

An Alberta business search confirms whether a corporation exists, whether it is active and who stands behind it. Look it up free below, then order a corporate profile report or a certificate of status when you need a document issued by Corporate Registry.

Alberta Business Search Made Simple With ACS

ACS is a private company. We are not a government office or a registry agent. The free lookup above searches our own index of the public notices published in the Alberta Registrar's Periodical and shows a corporation's name, corporate access number, type and status from its latest notice. The index can lag the registry by a few weeks, so the paid documents are the record to rely on. Business owners cannot search CORES, Alberta's Corporate Registry System, themselves, so our CORES-trained agents order the paid documents through a licensed Alberta registry agent.

Both paid products are emailed as PDFs, the same business day for orders received before 3:00 pm MT. You pay the price shown, plus GST, and you never visit a registry office. This page is part of our Alberta corporate records search hub.

Alberta Company Summary Documents

Certificate of Status or Corporate Profile Report?

The two documents answer different questions. A certificate of status in Alberta answers one: is this corporation active on the registry today. A corporate profile report in Alberta answers the rest: who the directors are, where the registered office is, what the corporate access number is and what has been filed.

The request saysOrder
"Proof of good standing" or "certificate of status"Certificate of status
"Who are the directors?" or "registered office address"Corporate profile report
"Current corporate search" or "company summary"Corporate profile report
Both, for a sale, a loan or a registration in another provinceBoth; Alberta itself asks out-of-province corporations for proof of current status from their home registry

Not sure which one?

  • If you only want to know whether a company exists and is active, use the free lookup.
  • If someone asked for proof of status or good standing, order a certificate of status.
  • If someone needs to know who the directors are or where the registered office is, order a corporate profile report.
  • If you are checking your own corporation after a filing, the profile report shows what Corporate Registry has on record.
  • If you need a copy of a filed document rather than the current record, see copies of business documents.
  • Still unsure? Call (403) XXX-XXXX and a person will tell you which document fits the request.

FAQs

What does a corporate profile report show?

A corporate profile report is Corporate Registry's current record of a corporation: its legal name, corporate access number, status, registered office, directors and filing history. Order it when someone needs to know who stands behind a company, not just whether it exists.

How fast can I get a certificate of status?

Orders received before 3:00 pm MT are emailed as a PDF the same business day. Our CORES-trained agents request the certificate through a licensed Alberta registry agent, so there is no registry visit and nothing to fill in beyond the corporation's name or corporate access number.

Can I search a trade name or partnership?

Yes. Trade names, partnerships, limited partnerships and limited liability partnerships are registered with Alberta Corporate Registry under the Partnership Act, and their registration record can be searched the same way. If you need the registration document itself, order a registration statement copy.

Order the document you need above and see the price before you start. Questions? Call (403) XXX-XXXX (Mon–Fri 8:00–6:00 MT).
