Business Support and Supplies
Corporate supplies in Alberta fall into two groups: the records, registered office and agent for service that every Alberta corporation must have, and the extras that make the corporation easier to run. This page is your post-incorporation checklist, with each card marked required or optional and the price shown before you order.
Corporate Supplies Made Simple With ACS
ACS is a private company. We are not a government office or a registry agent. Your Certificate of Incorporation is the start, not the finish: the corporation must keep its records, maintain a physical Alberta registered office and name an agent for service, and most corporations also need accounts with the Canada Revenue Agency and WCB-Alberta before they invoice or hire.
We supply each item on its own or with your incorporation, and a trained person checks that every name and detail matches your certificate exactly. In order, most new corporations need:
- A minute book with share certificates, so the records exist from day one.
- An agent for service and a registered office address, both on file with Corporate Registry.
- A CRA business number, with GST/HST and payroll accounts as the business grows.
- A WCB-Alberta account once the first worker is hired.
- Optional extras: a corporate seal, a domain name and a year of compliance support.

Registered Office Address and Agent for Service in Alberta
Agent for Service
Appoint us as agent for service →Required. Every Alberta corporation must appoint an individual located in Alberta with an Alberta address; the agent need not be a lawyer. If you live outside Alberta or would rather not publish your own name and address, we act for you. From $566 + GST.
Registered Office Address
Use our registered office address →Required. The registered office must be a physical Alberta address, not a P.O. box alone; ours includes mail scanning so notices from Corporate Registry reach you wherever you are. From $566 + GST.
Domain Name & Email
Register a domain name and email →Optional. For founders who want a matching web address and business email set up at the same time as the corporation. No government fee; from $442 + GST.
Government Accounts After Incorporation
CRA Business Number & GST
Set up your CRA accounts →Required for tax filings. The Canada Revenue Agency, not Corporate Registry, issues the business number your corporation uses for its T2 corporate tax return and its GST/HST, payroll and import/export accounts; GST/HST registration becomes mandatory once taxable revenues pass the small supplier threshold. From $106 + GST.
WCB-Alberta Account
Open a WCB-Alberta account →Required once you hire workers, in most industries. Some industries are exempt and some owners can buy optional personal coverage. From $149 + GST.
Name Reports for Other Provinces
NUANS Report (Federal, Ontario, others)
Only when you expand. For Alberta owners reserving a name for a federal incorporation or a registration in another province that uses NUANS. From $93 + GST. Order a NUANS report for another jurisdiction, or see the name reports for other provinces hub.
Not sure which one?
- If you just incorporated, start with the minute book and share certificates, then confirm who your agent for service is.
- If you live outside Alberta, or your only Alberta address is a P.O. box, you need both the agent for service and the registered office address.
- If your bank has asked for a seal, order one; otherwise it is optional.
- If you are about to invoice customers, set up the CRA business number and GST account.
- If you are about to hire, open the WCB-Alberta account.
- If you would rather never think about the annual return again, add one-year service support.

FAQs
Is a corporate seal required in Alberta?
No. An Alberta corporation is not required to have a corporate seal. Some banks, land titles offices and foreign counterparties still ask for an embossed seal, so many owners order one with the minute book.
What is included in a minute book?
A minute book is the corporation's record book: the articles, bylaws, registers of directors, shareholders and officers, share certificates and the annual resolutions of directors and shareholders. Alberta corporations must keep these records, and your accountant, a lender or a buyer will ask to see them.
Do I need an agent for service if I live in Alberta?
Yes. Every Alberta corporation must appoint an agent for service: an individual located in Alberta with an Alberta address, who does not need to be a lawyer. If you live in Alberta you can name yourself; owners who live elsewhere, travel often or prefer not to publish a home address appoint us instead.
What does annual service support cover?
One-year service support files your Alberta annual return (government fee included), sends reminders before every deadline, includes notices of change for directors and addresses, prepares the annual resolutions for your minute book and gives you a person to call. It does not include tax or legal advice.
